Occupational exposures including heavy metals, chemicals, solvents, gases, and pesticides exert biological effects on the exposed workers. ACGIH, OSHA, NIOSH, and other organizations have set exposure limits for the industry to prevent the workers. Biologic monitoring of exposed worker is one way to assess the exposure, its metabolite, or biochemical effect in a biologic specimen of the exposed worker.
